  • Jun 2006 : Join a group visit to Delta Works, Zeeland (pdf flyer).
  • Apr 2006 : The AGM for the IMechE Benelux branch will this year - for the first time ever - be held on a boat! The event will be combined with a tour of the world's Second Largest Port on a traditional Dutch river boat.

  • Feb - Top Flight Visit - President Prof. John Spence, new Director General Sir Michael Moore and Manager Regional Operations visit Benelux. Bill Adam, first Chairman of the Benelux Branch, honoured by IMechE with the award of Outstanding Branch Member

  • Jan - Annual Dinner Hotel Ter Elst, Edegem, Belgium. Sponsored by Shell
  • Mar - AGM at Breda, Netherlands. Bill Adam finishes term as Chairman and Ken Elvery begins term at Chairman
  • July - Vice President for International Affairs Tony Roach and Manager Regional Operations Martin Northcott visit Benelux Branch. Koyo Seiko start sponsorship of Newsletter
  • 1997

  • Oct - Inaugural Meeting of Benelux Branch at Hotel Ter Elst, Edegem, Belgium. 60 attendees. PE magazine runs an article on 5 Nov which gives "63% on engineers think greater involvement with the EU will affect their work"
  • May - Questionnaire sent out to 220 Benelux members - 39 reply. Replies form the basis of the Vision Statement. Go ahead to form Branch is given by Council. (Ian McConnell moves on to Italy after being the focal point for IMechE Professional Interviews)
  • Apr - DG visits Brussels. Talks held on formation of a Benelux Branch and application to IMechE made
  • 1996

  • Nov - President and Director General visit Belgium and Netherlands. Interest gathers in Benelux to form a branch, led by Bill Adam (Belgium)
